Okay, so 2026 has been rough. All around, but in my case, health-wise. I started it off in the hospital.
Perforated appendicitis.
I’m fine. Just spent a week in the hospital while my body built a wall around the spilled infection and absorbed it back in. They didn’t do surgery. Didn’t even put in a drain.
That said, I’m getting my appendix surgically removed next week. Goodbye, little timebomb. No more of you, thanks.
Next, I fostered a cat – a kitten, really – and fell in love with her sweet, loving nature, but she turned out to have a “harmless” parasite that caused her to have runny poops EVERYWHERE. Not her fault. She wasn’t being bad. She couldn’t help it. And she wouldn’t outgrow the effects of the parasite until she was two. She was only six months old.
No way would I be able to scrub poop out of carpet while recovering from an appendectomy. So I had to take her back to the shelter. I was This Close to adopting her, and I’m heartbroken about it.
Also, I cut my hair short.
Oh, and I’ve written quite a few words. I’ve finished a short story for an interesting project I hope you’ll be hearing more about. I should be publishing a novella from an anthology I was in at Halloween soonish. I’m working on the space shifter RH.
Just… lots of things have been happening while I’ve been sick. LOTS.
