Progress and Not Progress

So it’s taken the year thus far to get past the whole appendicitis issue, but I’ve healed from surgery and everything. Finally. Oi.

I got a cat. Then I had to take it back, wept about it, had surgery and healed from it, then decided to try again. Fiona is now part of my household, and I think she’s gonna be a firm fit. She’s complicated, but aren’t we all? I love her. She tolerates me. Heh.

But I need to get back in the swing of writing. Yes, I’ve done SOME writing. I finished a couple of short stories. I’ve read Her Horsemen Three in preparation of putting it out as a novella as soon as the cover is ready.

Not enough. I need to get down to business. Not to defeat the Huns, which would frankly be rude in this day and age, but to finish a novel. I have a few in the works, so I need to get busy on one of them and finish. I love finishing. It’s a beautiful, wonderful, better-than-flying feeling.

So that’s my goal. Get back into writing every day, even with a cuddly cat on my lap. Challenge accepted.
